We know that technicians and contractors need flexibility when it comes to installation of handholes, which is why we have worked to simplify the process of modification of our Maximus™ HD enclosures. The unique composite material of Maximus™ HD provides superior strength, while making it easy to cut and modify with basic cordless tools and accessories. There is no need for diamond bit hole saws or drill bits, as regular attachments cut through the material with ease.

Additionally, we have this simple guide which can be downloaded showing our recommendations for modifying the enclosure in the field while still maintaining its Tier 15 and Tier 22 performance. Simply stated, don’t remove more than 25% of material from any side, and cut only in the flat shaded areas as shown in the diagram below. These flat areas are wide enough to accommodate the most common sizes holes used for conduit that might enter or exit the enclosure.
