INSTALLING

UNDERGROUND ENCLOSURES

ALWAYS INSTALL COVER AND SECURE WITH PROVIDED HARDWARE BEFORE BACKFILLING

INTERNAL BRACING

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

Internal bracing is recommended installation practice for any underground enclosure, regardless of the manufacturer or material to prevent sidewall deflection, premature failure, and most importantly safe installation. Bracing may be required by local conditions or regulations to ensure a safe and proper installation, be sure to check with your local authorities when installing underground enclosures.

If heavy machinery is used near the enclosure or when 95% compaction is required, use internal bracing using 2x4s or material similar with the cover(s) installed and properly secured with the provided hardware. Additionally, for enclosures with openings of covers greater than 30″, interior bracing of 2x4s or similar material should be used at mid-depth of the enclosure.  Two braces are recommended on any side greater than 60″.
